Size guide

Our sizes are graded on independent plus-size patterns, not standard sizes scaled up. That means your usual dress size is not a reliable starting point — your measurements are.

How our sizing works

Three things that make this chart different.

Graded, not scaled

A scaled-up pattern grows every measurement at the same rate. Real bodies don't. Our bust-to-waist ratio and torso length change with each size, which is why the jump from 2X to 3X is not simply four inches everywhere.

Measured on the sample

Every figure comes off a garment we had in hand — measured flat, then measured again at full stretch. Nothing here is copied from a supplier spec sheet.

Stretch changes the answer

A high-stretch chemise and a low-stretch satin slip in the same size fit very differently. Each product page states its stretch level, and that is what decides whether to size up or down.

The chart

Body measurements, in inches.

These are your body measurements, not the garment’s. If two of your three numbers land in one size and one lands in the next, follow the sizing advice on that product page — it tells you which measurement matters most for that cut.

4X

Torso length is the measurement most size charts leave out, and it is the one that decides whether a bodysuit or teddy actually works. Measure from the top of your shoulder, down the front of your body, through the crotch and back up to the same shoulder. If your torso runs long for your size, size up on one-piece styles even when your bust and hip say otherwise.

Stretch levels

What the stretch rating means for you.

High stretch

Forgives a 3–4 inch difference from the chart. If you are between two sizes, size down for a closer fit or stay larger for a skimming drape. Most babydolls and chemises sit here.

Medium stretch

Forgives about 1–2 inches. Between sizes, go up. Most lace sets and soft-cup bodysuits sit here.

Low stretch

Fits close to the chart with almost no give. Always size up if you are between. Satin slips and structured pieces sit here.

By style

How each cut behaves.

The most forgiving cut in the edit and the safest place to start if you are unsure. The body is loose below the bust, so bust and torso length decide the fit; the waist and hip measurements matter far less.

The least forgiving. Torso length is the deciding measurement — if it is short for your size the piece pulls at the shoulders and the gusset, no matter how well the bust and hip fit. Size up on torso before anything else.

Top and bottom are sized together, so order on your bust if the two land in different sizes and treat the brief as the looser piece. Band adjustability is listed per style.

Cut generously and belted, so they run across two body sizes comfortably. Sleeve and body length are the things to check, not circumference.
